Ford Ranger (PX & Next-Gen) Touring Accessories
Ranger fitment splits into the PX generations and the Next-Gen model from 2022, and parts are not interchangeable between them. Always confirm which one you drive.
Where to start with your Ford Ranger (PX & Next-Gen)
Begin with how you travel. Solo tourers tend to put recovery and lighting first. Families usually put storage and a canopy first. Tell us which sounds like you and we will point you at the right category.
- Confirm your model year, variant and body type (tub or tray).
- Work out your payload before adding heavy accessories.
- Choose protection and suspension to match the loaded weight.
- Check state rules on lighting and vehicle modifications.
Ford Ranger generations and fitment
Accessories for the Ford Ranger are matched to the model generation, cab style and body, so the year range matters more than the badge. Here is how we approach it:
- PX (2011 to 2015) and PX II (2015 to 2018): The earlier PX utes share a body shape, but trims and tail lights changed, so give us your year and variant when you ask about fitment.
- PX III (2018 to 2022): The last of the PX line. Many accessories sold for PX and PX II will not suit it, so always select by this generation.
- Next-Gen (2022 onwards): A redesigned, larger ute. Accessories from the PX era do not carry across. Raptor and other performance variants also have different suspension and bumpers, so confirm your variant.
Choosing a canopy and racks for your Ranger
Ranger owners usually choose between a full tub canopy and a tray setup. A tub canopy keeps the factory look and the lockable load area, while a tray gives more freedom for drawers and a custom layout. Because the PX and Next-Gen bodies differ, always match canopy and rack choices to your generation and cab style. See our aluminium canopies, roof racks and roller shutters, or read our guide to choosing a touring canopy.
Payload and weight on your Ranger
A well-equipped Ranger can use up payload faster than expected once a canopy, racks, a long-range tank and camping gear are on board. Work out your loaded weight first, then match suspension and recovery gear to it. Our Big Lap preparation checklist covers weight, power, recovery and spares in more detail.
